Black
This is another misunderstood colour but a British Black can be fabulous. They have round orange eyes and the roundness of a British. They can look like small lumps of furry coal when they are curled up. The coat is not sound (not all black) when they are kittens and can have a brown tinge which is often called rust. The weather can effect the colour of the coat as it does in many colours but the coat on a black can be more noticeable. I find that they have a sightly different temperament to the rest of a litter often wanting to lean against you or curl up beside you, trying to get as much of them touching as much of you. They often turn out to be lap cats but go through this stage first. They seem to be the clowns of the British breed or perhaps it is just the ones that I have bred. The British black seem to have a natural affinity with children and children also have an uncanny knack of picking the black kitten in a litter. I do not know why but when parents bring their offspring to decide on a new addition to the family, the children nearly always want the black kitten.
