Blue
This has to be the most known colour of all the British Shorthaired followed very closely by the silver spotted and tabby. The males are also the biggest of all British Shorthairs and can dwarf some of the other colours. They can be aloof and do not always make the best lap cats but pick your kitten and there is no reason that they will be that way. Always remember that what you see at a breeders home is not going to be how your kitten is going to be in your home.
All kittens are in great demand both for the show world and for pets. Blue's have also appeared in many adverts, fuelling the demand and raising awareness. As kittens they may show "ghost" markings which can be in the form of spots or tabby pattern. These should fade as they get older although the markings on the tail can be retained.
The Blue should have Orange eyes, which are round in shape. They tend to be the biggest of all the British Shorthairs with the males being the biggest of all. Pet quality can mean that they are too heavily marked, have pale eyes or an unsound coat. The coat is meant to be blue, light to medium in colour, sound to the root but this is quite difficult to achieve with variations in colour to the root of the hair.
