Silver Tortie Tabby

You do not often see a silver tortie tabby. They are in lay terms a British silver tabby but with red also in the coat. They are very striking and very pretty. They do not appear often, I have bred two in my time, which is not a lot. This is a picture of Zhuzhy Silver Sunset. I have repeated the mating that created these two lovelies, but I did not get a kitten of this colour and pattern.

Silver Tortie Tabbies should have orange eyes that are round in shape. The silver should be like a silver sixpence with nice clear black classic tabby pattern. The red tends to be with the black but can appear elsewhere in the coat. The nose is brick red and as with all tabbies there should be a distinct "M" on the forehead. The rest of the standard is the same as for a silver tabby. This beautiful colour is definitely not run of the mill.
